Our Story

RUNSAN (Retired United Nations Staff Association Nepal) was officially formed on 29 October 2013 during the UN day celebration in Kathmandu and is affiliated with the Federation of Associations of Former International Civil Servants (FAFICS), Geneva. RUNSAN stands with its members -ensuring support in pension, insurance and health wellbeing.

It has life members from the UN agencies.All Nepalese UN Staff members, their surviving spouses, and any retirees of the UN system –whether residing in Nepal or abroad – who receive a pension and pay the prescribed membership fee shall be considered members of the Association.


Aims

RUNSAN aims to bring its members together and facilitate their common interest in matters related to health well-being, pension, medical insurance and the establishment of harmony through social and cultural activities.


Objectives

✅ To be the center for developing and renewing friendship, promoting harmony and cordially among the members and act to promote the basic ideals and objectives of the United Nations
✅ To serve as a pool of experienced international civil servants with expertise of wide varieties of fields available to respond to the requests of any institutions
✅ To promote social and cultural activities for the benefit of its members and to foster good relations among them.
✅ To maintain good relations and coordinate with other associations and federations of the retired staff of the UN systems.
